About me

    I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University. I am working at the File Systems and Storage Lab under the guidance of Prof. Erez Zadok since January, 2012. Prior, I worked at Motorola for over 5 years after completing my undergraduate education from National Institute of Technology, Calicut, in 2006. I also completed a graduate certificate course (online) on Computer Networking and Telecommunications from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, during this time.

Industry Experience

  Senior Software Engineer @ Motorola (5 years)

  • Worked with the IP Technology Group to implement a prototype for fast handoff mechanism for Mobile IP in dual-radio systems. Involved in various phases of development of modules including Foreign Agent, Candidate Access Router Discovery (CARD) module, PPP-over-GRE tunneling for Packet Data Serving Node (PDSN), etc.
  • Worked with the Broadband Services Router(BSR) group to design and develop the BSR64000 CMTS edge router and various modules and functionalities within. Projects broadly covers systems, security and networking.
  • Projects on Data over Cable Systems Interface Specifications (DOCSIS) implementation on vxWorks and Integrity operating systems
  • Involved in implementing and supporting DHCP relay agent, DHCP lease query, DOCSIS MAC-domain channel expansion and analysis, etc.
  • Implemented design artifacts including transactional architecture for distributed dynamic data updates, hierarchical state machines for asynchronous event processing, etc.
  • Module co-owner of Baseline Privacy Interface (BPI) for security in the cable RF network.
  • Module owner of the transactional redundancy architecture (for high availability) for BPI.
