[Unionfs] unionfs and rhel5

There was a thread last month discussing getting the unionfs patch to
work with the rhel5 kernel. Has anyone had any luck? I was able to get
the kernel to build with the patch from that thread, but could not
successfully mount a union with the resulting kernel (kept getting
ENODEV).
