Hey Erez,

I'm sorry, I lied to you in the statement above. I played around with some
patching forth and back and I noticed that the last working setup wasn't
unionfs-2.5 at all but 2.4. Knowing this, I got it running on 2.6.27.4 with
unionfs-2.4_for_2.6.27-rc1.diff.gz. So it seems it's a 2.5-specific issue.
