By popular request, we have a working backport of Unionfs 2.0 to the 2.6.9
kernel. See updated download links from the main Web page:
<http://unionfs.filesystems.org/>
or get it directly from here:
<http://download.filesystems.org/unionfs/unionfs-2.x/linux-2.6.9-u1.diff.gz>
We've tested it using the vanilla 2.6.9 kernel. Since the 2.6.9 kernel is
so much older than our recent ports, and vendors have made significant
changes to it, we tried to ensure that the unionfs patch will apply as
cleanly as possible. To achieve that, we didn't back-port the current VFS
changes in support of stacking, and in fact we didn't touch the 2.6.9 kernel
code at all: we added a few VFS-level files and headers, and otherwise
integrated all custom VFS changes from 2.6.22 directly into the Unionfs
code.
Hopefully this'd make it easier for you to apply this 2.6.9-u1 patch onto
heavily hacked vendor kernels (e.g., RHEL4 and CentOS4).
As usual, feel free to report all problems you find to
<https://bugzilla.filesystems.org/>
Enjoy.
Erez, on behalf of the Unionfs team.
