Andrew, can you try the unionfs2 patch for 2.6.9 on your 2.6.11 kernel?  I
know a couple of people who've tried that.

Unionfs 1.x is rather old by now; Unionfs 2.x adds many features and is a
lot more stable than 1.x.  I strongly suggest you upgrade to 2.x.

If you really need a 2.6.11 port and the 2.6.9 patch doesn't work for you,
let me know and I'll try to get that port going.

BTW, your next message about "passwd" causing an oops, was that with unionfs
1.x or 2.0?
